If I could bottle up your wisdom...

Today I have the great pleasure of going for dinner with a couple of my favourite people, and one of those is my Dad. It is going to be wonderful and I can't wait, I could really do with one of his pep talks right now. When asked by one of my colleagues how well I get on with my dad I said

"If I could bottle up some of his wisdom and compassion and share it with everyone else, the world would be a much better place"

I genuinely believe this. I often wish that some of my friends could have a dad like mine. I have said it before and I am going to say it again my dad can really be the best. He has the unbelievable ability to put any situation I am faced with into perfect perspective, he is always on the end of the phone when I need him and he doesn't judge me for being a blubbering fool or stupidly excitable. He also comes out with THE BEST metaphores and philosophies about life, and somehow knows exactly when to send me some words of wisdom in a text just when I need it most. I have started writing some of them down, and I will share some of his wisdom and wise words every now and then in this blog.

I haven't always had this relationship with my dad but as I get older I find myself turning to him more and more when I'm faced with all those (sometimes rubbish) adult situations I find myself in, and the good times too!

This image pretty much sums up my relationship with my dad, he keeps me grounded but encourages me to be a go-getter and be ambitious.
He also takes selfies with me whilst walking around Ikea which is pretty awesome isn't it?!

  1. Aw I love this post! I love my Dad and I'm the same - as I'm getting older I turn to him more often and appreciate his wisdom even more too! And I love that your Dad does ikea selfies with ya ;-) xx
