Remaining dignified - That Madonna fall

So Madonna almost broke the internet last night thanks to her almighty fall during her BRITs performance. There are Memes, GIFs and hundreds of thousands of Tweets going round the internet. I've heard all the conspiracies, all the whispers that it was deliberate. Me, myself I think it was a little too precarious to be faked. Aside from the gasps of horror, the utter dismay I thought when I witnessed it, by the end of the performance and for the hours that followed this morning I've been thinking about how this is a great example of staying dignified in an adverse situation. This quote sums dignity up pretty well.

“One's dignity may be assaulted, vandalized and cruelly mocked, but it can never be taken away unless it is surrendered.”

This little incident could teach us all a little lesson, whichever way you look at it, she proves that there really is power in picking yourself up (quite literally), brushing yourself off, and keeping on keeping on. Do you know what, I have a new found respect for her, and to be honest I never thought much of her as a performer. I'm pretty sure I'll think about that the next time I fall off a table (whilst dancing in my favourite bar), trip down the stairs or just general make a little fool out of myself.

Final thought: YOU GO GIRL!!!!
