Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Sea

This weekend I was lucky enough to be whisked away on belated birthday celebrations with Scottish and some of our friends.

Until we reached the destination I was completely unaware where we were going, as we edged ever closer my guessing became better and we eventually ended up in Suffolk, Sudbury to be exact.

What I saw on arrival couldn't have been any better....we were staying in a WINDMILL. Yeah you read that right a real life windmill (check it our here)! It was pretty cool, and can kind of be described as a glamping experience, complete with outdoor toilet, and inside toilet bucket for emergencies (we didn't have to use it thankfully).

It really was pretty cool and I recommend it to anyone who is feeling adventurous. It had a great log fire, double bed and sofa bed, fridge and tea and coffee making essentials, along with TV and WiFi.

The location was brilliant no too far from Sudbury center but far enough away to be completely tranquil with a beautiful sunrise.

Saturday afternoon there was only one thing to do and that was to take a leisurely stroll into Sudbury to find us a drinking hole and what a drinking hole we found. The Wagon and Horses was a pretty cool little drinking location with great interiors and what looks like a brilliant menu, I'd definitely recommend if you visit.

After a few ciders we headed out in the evening to The Pheasant where we had some brilliant food all of which was locally sourced. I think I speak for us all when I say we completely indulged in all that was on offer. The only thing for it after packing ourselved in the car back to the mill was to get some rest before Sunday's adventures.

And what were those adventures? Well we went to Southend On Sea. My first time there and I thouroughly enjoyed it. We played on tacky arcade games, and spent what feels like hours on the 2p machines. We visited the Pier, played crazy golf and ate fish and chips by the sea. On reflection we fit an awful lot in in 1 day.

All in all it was a brilliant weekend and a very special trip away. AirBnB never fails to delivery the goods. Now where to next?
