LIFE: Perfect Sundays At The Queen and Castle Kenilworth

No matter what time of the year, I will always welcome a big fat roast on a Sunday, and when I heard that me and the sister were going to take my gorgeous Grandma for lunch last Sunday I knew instantly where we would be going... The Queen and Castle in Kenilworth.

Not only is it a favourite of mine, it would appear by the chowing down of 3 courses and clear plates that it's a favourite for Grandma too. I couldn't bloody wait for the meal and did my usual of checking out the menu and dribbling at my desk 3 days before our visit, god knows why because I was going straight for the lamb roast as usual and boy am I glad I did.

When we arrived we were greeted by the cheeriest waiting staff who showed us to our table and considered the fact that patience was a must with my 92 year old Grandma. We then got straight into the ordering and despite it being a gorgeous sunny Sunday in a hugely popular spot in Kenilworth opposite sprawling views of the Castle, our food arrived within 20 minutes and was nothing short of perfect.

Ashamedly we are all pretty quick eaters so no quicker than it appeared on the table, it was gone, sitting satisfyingly in our stomachs but leaving just enough time for desert, and let me tell you the deserts in this place are PHENOMENAL (I'm literally so hungry writing this). The baked cheesecake was cooked to perfection, the coffees were steaming and the ice cream was just what the doctor ordered.

All in all this place is pretty brilliant! From the food, to the staff to the gorgeous views of the castle opposite, it's hard to find anything to fault. If you live locally I would actually recommend going on any day of the week, there is always something you'll fancy on the menu, and if you don't and your simply visiting some of the great places Warwickshire has to offer then put a meal at this place firmly in the itinerary, you wont be disappointed.
